The third tab under the Settings menu is labeled "Scanner". In normal use, if there are no more changes to the files and folders on the Aurender for over a minute, then the Aurender will automatically scan and update the song database to the iPad, so that the changes can be seen on the Conductor App. Depending on the size of the database, this can take a few seconds to over a minute.
At the bottom of the Scanner tab, the scan status, list of unrecognized files (if any), and the list of scanned drives are displayed.
HD Album cover for cover view
Allows the user to use high resolution cover art on a 64-bit iOS device when browsing Album covers. Depending on the amount of content, it make take some time for the cover art metadata to be updated. If using a NAS drive in conjunction with the internal storage, a new scan of the NAS using Aurender Media Manager will need to be performed to update the metadata for the content on the NAS.
Update Song Information Database
While normally this is not needed, the user may wish to use this after transferring music files if there is no change to the iPad App and the files are not visible or if metadata tags have not changed. This affects the iPad App and it's sync with the Aurender's internal database, as sometimes the iPad App's downloaded database may be corrupted.
Scan for newly added files
If the user wishes to speed up the scanning process and scan for new music files, instead of waiting a few minutes for the Aurender to automatically scan the database, the user may do so using this button.
This function performs an entire rebuild of the Aurender's song database, which may take over an hour for large music collections. This is typically only needed if the user is experiencing issues with metadata tags for content, such as misplaced album art or unchanged tags.
