All Aurender music servers are accessible as a Common Internet File System (CIFS) or Samba (SMB) shared folder on the local area network from a Windows PC. Following the process below will allow you to mount the Aurender's shared folder to your PC and perform a number of tasks, such as transferring content, deleting content, or copying content from the Aurender to a backup location. More information on these functions is available at the bottom of the page.
Check the Aurender's IP Address and Login Credentials
First, make sure your iPad is connected to the same network as the Aurender, then open the Conductor App. Navigate to the "Settings" menu, and select "Aurender File Share" (1). This will display the network ID (shown in the below example, \\X100-0038f0) and IP address of the Aurender, as well as a Username and Password, which you will need when mounting the Aurender shared folder from your PC (2).
Connect to Aurender Share From Windows
Open the "Run" program on your Windows PC to connect to the Aurender, by right-clicking the "Start" button, or using the keyboard shortcut "Windows (Start)+R". (3)
With the "Run" window open, enter either the Network ID (i.e. X100-0038f0) or the IP address of the Aurender found on the Conductor App, preceded by two backslashes "\\". (4)
A window will appear with the Aurender shared folder(s) (5). Select the folder you want to connect to by double clicking it, and when prompted, enter the username and password from the Conductor App to connect (6).
Once you have mounted the folder, a new window will appear displaying the folders located in the Music1 or Music2 root folder. If you are connecting to a brand new unit for the first time, you will see a list of default folder names already located on the Aurender's internal storage. (7)
