2-1: General Considerations - Instructions and Positioning
PLEASE READ THIS GUIDE THOROUGHLY BEFORE INSTALLATION OF THE AURENDER MUSIC SERVER
Be careful when handling the unit. A drop or other shock to the chassis could cause internal damage.
Never disassemble the unit as it contains no user serviceable parts.
Avoid placement near strong magnetic fields or static electric charge to avoid data loss or damage.
Exposure to oil, dust, water, smoke or high humidity conditions should be avoided.
Ventilation openings must be free from obstruction.
Only use a soft non-abrasive cloth to clean the unit.
Avoid contact with water or any other liquids.
Service, if required, must be performed by a qualified service technician. Failure to do so will void the warranty.
When connecting the unit to AC mains power, please ensure the outlet meets Class 1 electrical requirements and provides a properly earthed (grounded) connection at the wall socket. Failure to do so may cause damage to the unit or injury to the operator.
Disconnect the AC power cord during severe weather conditions, such as during a lighting storm, or when unit is unused for an extended period.
Please follow the proper procedure for powering off the unit before disconnecting it from AC power using the back panel power switch, as found at this link: http://support.aurender.com/power-off-procedure.html When the unit is properly shut down and the back panel power switch is in the "off" position, the AC power cord can be safely removed.
Always make sure the power is off before connecting or disconnecting cables.
PLEASE NOTE THAT HARD DISK DRIVES (HDD) CAN FAIL AND IT IS IMPORTANT TO ALWAYS HAVE A BACKUP OF YOUR MUSIC LIBRARY STORED ON A SEPARATE MEMORY DEVICE.
AURENDER IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, NOR ARE THE DRIVE MANUFACTURERS WHO WILL ONLY REPLACE DEFECTIVE DRIVES UNDER WARRANTY.
Positioning Requirements For Aurender Music Servers
Place the unit on a flat, level and stable surface.
Avoid positioning the unit near sources of heat, such as a radiator.
Do not stack other components on top of the Aurender.
Always allow for air to be able to circulate around the unit.
Do not place the unit within an enclosed space without adequate airflow. As a guideline, please allow a minimum of 2" (5.08cm) clearance for the sides, front, and rear of the unit, and a minimum 6" (15.24cm) clearance for the top of the unit.
Avoid placement of unit anywhere there may be fluids that can penetrate and contaminate the chassis.
Never place a vessel, such as a vase, with fluids on top or near the unit.
The recommended operating ambient temperature range is: 32 to 95 F (0 to 35 C) or 32 to 113 F (0 to 45 C) (model dependent)
